Sheet Rubber

Automatic Rubber Setup - Sheet Rubber

Cut rubber from sheet

This option normally applies to circuit type dies. If it is checked then One-up interior, Perimeter and Waste areas will be greyed out.

Border

The perimeter rubber can be created from a solid piece or in strips. Choose the appropriate radio button:

  • Rectangular- The rubber sheet extents are calculated from the cut type extents.
    • Left border
    • Right border
    • Top border
    • Bottom border
    • Equal borders - switch this option on to make all four borders the same size.
  • Strip rubber
    • Strip width - this is the width of each strip of rubber.

Internal areas

These are the settings for rubber added inside any external cut profiles.

Palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette.

Rubber to knife distance

Enter the initial offset from the profiled entities to the rubber blocks.

This option determines whether the rubber is generated as a solid sheet or as strips.

Strip width

Enter the width of the rubber.

Automatic split

If this option is checked, split lines will be added to all blocks where the path is greater than the spacing specified.

  • Spacing - This is the approximate distance between split lines. The split lines will be added at intersection points.
  • Cutback - Enter the distance to trim back each block along the split line.

Crease mask

Switch this option on to create a mask around crease entities, so that rubber does not encroach on these areas. The diagram on the One-up Interior page shows how these variables affect the shape of the mask area.

Mask width

Enter the required mask width.

Shoulder width

The mask can shaped with a 'shoulder' at either end. This is the shoulder offset value.

Mask angle
