Rotary Dieboard Shell Size

This page defines the parameters for the shell sizes and default placement.

Split dieboard for multiple rotary shells

Palette - palette of any split lines added.

If the number of Shells across and Shells down is not enabled the optimal number will be added based upon the lengths and full height specified.

Specifying the number of shells across and down will apply these values overriding the full shell lengths and height specified.

Shell widths

Maximum - enter the maximum shell width that should be used.

Minimum - enter the minimum shell width that should be used.

Shell heights

Maximum - enter the maximum height or circumferential length of shell that should be used when editing the shells.

Minimum - enter the minimum height or circumferential length of shell that should be used.

Full - enter the default full height or circumferential length of shell that should be used for the automatic placement.

Full (lengths) - allows you to specify a number of different shell lengths that are stocked. These values are then used to calculate the optimal number of shells across the dieboard.

Use full shell heights - switch this option on to use the full shell height, positioned as follows: (otherwise the shells will be evenly cut down to fit the overall wood size.)

Positioning

  • Centre on design extents
  • From bottom of wood extents
  • From top of wood extents

Options

Confirm dieboard position before creation - when running the Rotary Dieboard tool, after adding the woodsize, if this option is enabled then the X offset and Y offset values are displayed on the edit bar. You can then change these values if required before pressing Continue to move on to the Symbol Pattern placement. You can also press Reset  to put the values back to their default.

Edit dieboard position after creation - when running the Rotary Dieboard tool, after the Symbol Pattern placement, there is a drop-down menu on the edit bar containing several options including Dieboard position. If you choose this option then the X offset and Y offset values are displayed on the edit bar. If this option is enabled you will be able to change these values, otherwise they are disabled.

The following options are designed to be used when the wood extents are not lasered; the full height of the shell will be used as the extents and a cut off line can be added to the right hand side of the shell.

Add non-laser areas to rotary dieboard - these are calculated from the dieboard size, the full shell width and the Laser setting selected when the dieboard is created. These areas are marked on the dieboard using the palette specified.

Non-laser palette - From the pulldown list select the palette to mark any non-laser areas.

Add origin mark to left edge of rotary dieboard (excluding non-laser area) - this is created in the left most position the laser head can travel to and allows you to line up the origin on the shell exactly.

Add cut off marks to right edge of rotary dieboard (only if inside non-laser area) - if the wood size is less than the shell width a vertical entity will be added around the shell in the palette specified.

Mark palette - from the pulldown list select the palette for the origin mark on the cut off line.
