Path Hole Finding

The Path and Hole finding settings are used by the Draw - Hole Finder and the Draw - Path Finder tools.

Name

Enter the unique MTS name.

Description

Enter an optional description for this setting.

Path Hole Finding - Original Geometry

Copy Original Geometry

This option determines if a copy of the original hole or path geometry is to be created.

Sub-Blocks

This option determines if the copied geometry is to be placed into a sub-block.

Block Name

Enter the name for the sub-block.

Palette

If this option is checked, the copied geometry will be created in the palette specified. Otherwise the geometry will be created in the current palette.

Palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to create the copied geometry.

Leave Selected

This option determines if the geometry is to be selected.

Merge Entities

Switch this option on if end-to-end entities should be merged into a single entity.

Path Hole Finding - Left / Outside

Left / Outside

Switch this option on if new geometry is to be created to the left of a path or to the outside of a hole.

Sub-Blocks

This option determines if the new geometry is to be placed into a sub-block.

Block Name

Enter the name for the sub-block.

Palette

If this option is checked then the new geometry will be created in the palette specified. Otherwise the new geometry will be created in the current palette.

Palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to create the new geometry.

Offset dead-ends

If checked, then any entities that break the path or hole picked will also be profiled.

Use initial Offset

This option allows you to create two or more offsets; the first can be offset at a different value.

Initial Offset

Enter the distance from the original geometry to the initial offset.

Standard Offset

Enter the distance from the initial offset, if Use initial offset is checked, or from the original geometry, if it is not checked.

Number

Enter the number of new paths or holes to be created.

Leave Selected

This option determines if the geometry is to be selected.

Sharp Corners

This option controls how the gaps between consecutive entities are filled. If the option is chosen, then the entities are simply extended (as if by the Trim - Corner tool), otherwise the entities are joined by an arc centred at the original intersection (as if by the Trim - Fillet tool).

Merge Entities

Switch this option on if end-to-end entities should be merged into a single entity.

Path Hole Finding - Right / Inside

Right / Inside

Switch this option on if new geometry is to be created to the right of a path or to the inside of a hole.

Sub-Blocks

This option determines if the new geometry is to be placed into a sub-block.

Block Name

Enter the name for the sub-block.

Palette

If this option is checked then the new geometry will be created in the palette specified. Otherwise the new geometry will be created in the current palette.

Palette

From the pulldown list chose the palette in which to create the copied geometry.

Offset dead-ends

If checked, then any entities that break the path or hole picked will also be profiled.

Use initial Offset

This option allows you to create two or more offsets; the first can be offset at a different value.

Initial Offset

Enter the distance from the original geometry to the initial offset

Standard Offset

Enter the distance from the initial offset, if Use initial offset is checked, or from the original geometry, if it is not checked.

Number

Enter the number of new paths or holes to be created.

Leave Selected

This option determines if the geometry is to be selected.

Sharp Corners

This option controls how the gaps between consecutive entities are filled. If the option is chosen then the entities are simply extended (as if by the Trim - Corner tool), otherwise the entities are joined by an arc centred at the original intersection (as if by the Trim - Fillet tool).

Auto Fill

This option only applies to the Hole Finder tool. If checked then the tool will create internal offsets at the standard offset until the hole is filled.

Merge Entities

Switch this option on if end-to-end entities should be merged into a single entity.

Path Hole Finding - Interior Shapes

Interiors

Switch this option on if new geometry is to be created around any internal holes or paths found within the boundaries of an outer hole.

Interior holes

If this option is checked, new geometry will be offset from any internal holes.

Copy original geometry

This option determines if a copy of the original internal hole geometry is to be created.

Offset inside

Switch this option on to create an offset inside any complete internal contours.

Offset

Enter the distance to offset inside any internal holes.

Offset outside

Switch this option on to create an offset outside any complete internal contours.

Offset

Enter the distance to offset outside any internal holes.

Interior paths

Switch this option on to create offsets from any interior paths.

Copy original geometry

This option determines if a copy of the original internal path geometry is to be created.

Pocket

If this option is switched on then any internal paths found within an outer hole will be pocketed with an offset specified by the following offset.

Offset

Enter the distance to offset from any internal paths.

NOTE: If the block names for any or the tabs are set to the same name, the geometry will be placed into the same block, otherwise the geometry from each tab will be placed into its own block, if checked.
