Quick Layout

This tool is ideal for users who want to create layouts for sampling. The tool features a minimal interface with only the essential controls available to the user. It is an ideal introduction to the creation of Impact layouts.

Sheet

From the pulldown list choose the required Layout Machine / Sheet Setting. These settings specify the maximum/default sheet size, the standard trim and the default sheet board type. You can make a local edit to these settings using the edit button  if required.

Fill Sheet

If this option is switched on then Impact will simply fill the sheet with the maximum number of designs that it can do, based upon the selected pattern. If the option is switched off then the edit bar will have two more options:

In this case you can specify a grid-style layout, consisting of a number of designs in the horizontal axis and a number of designs in the vertical axis.

Pattern

From the pulldown list choose the required Layout Pattern Setting. These settings specify how the rows and columns of the layout will be rotated, interlocked, guttered etc. Similarly, you can make a local edit to these settings using the edit button  if required.

Palettes

From the pulldown list choose the required Layout Palette Setting. These settings will add the overall sheet size and a trimmed sheet size around the layout. Again, the edit button  is available for making local edits.

Accept

Press the Accept button  to generate the layout using the selected settings. A new layer in the current project, with the same name as the Machine / Sheet Settings, will be created and made current.

If a Value Mapping has been defined in Options - Database Installation - Layout Creator (After) then this will be performed when the new layer is created.
