Insert Design Component

Edit bar options: Automatic, Rotate, Mirror X, Mirror Y, 2 points, Allowances, Reset, Skip Anchor, Change, Delete Dimensions

This tool is used to insert standard design components, such as flaps and bases, into a drawing.

When you activate the tool, the Design Component Select form appears. Once the appropriate design component has been selected, the following controls may appear on the edit bar (depending on the particular design component).

Automatic

If the selected design component supports automatic placement (i.e. the standard part's anchor properties are either Mid point snaps to any point or End point snaps to any point) then this option is displayed. If you switch it on then the component will be automatically orientated depending on the identified entity.

Rotate

This option is only available if Automatic is switched off and the selected design component allows rotation. Enter the required angle.

Mirror options

These options are only available if Automatic is switched off and the selected design component allows mirroring. Switch on or off as required.

2 points

This option is only available if the selected design component  supports the 2 point option. This is where the start and end points of an imaginary line are identified instead of pointing to an actual line entity.

Allowances

Press this button to open the Impact Design Component Wizard where you can override the default Material variables and other parameters defined when the design component was created.

Reset

Press this button to remove any rotations and mirrors that may have been applied.

Skip Anchor

If the relevant part of the selected design component supports skipping (i.e. it has more than one anchor point) then this option is displayed. Press this button to skip past the selection of the current anchor point.

Change

Press this button to return to the Design Component Select form to choose a different component.

Delete Dimensions

If this option is switched on then all dimension entities will be removed from the final design component when it is added to the drawing.

When all of the required edit bar options have been selected you should identify the placement position(s) as prompted by the particular design component.
