Dimensions

This tool can be used to automatically redraw any dimensions. It has two primary purposes, described below.

The tool operates on all dimensions in the current block. No entities need to be selected. No interaction is required. No dimension entities are added or removed.

Auto-Sizing

If a dimension has auto-sizing enabled (see Dimension Settings), the size (of the text, terminators, and so on) will have been calculated from the extents of the drawing at the time when the dimension was created, so the size may no longer be appropriate. Several dimensions might have different auto-sizing if they were created at different times, which can appear messy. This tool recalculates the dimensions' appearance, based on the current drawing extents.

Projection Lines

Normally when dimensions are added to the drawing the dimension projection lines are either cut back or suppressed completely if there are entities which would be overlapped. As the drawing is modified, these entities may in time be removed, or new ones added, potentially leaving messy projection lines.
