Database Operation - Symbols
Symbols can be defined which have a special behaviour with certain tools. Press the appropriate edit button 
to select a new symbol.
Flute/Grain Direction
The direction of the material flute or grain, as specified in the Layer Properties.
Machine Direction
The direction of the board through the machine, as specified in the Layer Properties.
These two symbols may be inserted and their directions modified using Block - Direction Symbols.
Outside / Print-face
This symbol, whose name varies depending on the Terminology option, is displayed when the project is viewed from the Outside / Print-face side.
Inside / Die-face
This symbol, whose name varies depending on the Terminology option, is displayed when the project is viewed from the Inside / Die-face side.
If you insert the Print-face symbol when viewing the project from the Print-face side and then switch to viewing from the Die-face side, Impact will automatically replace the symbol with the Die-face symbol.
Nick Symbol Group
This is the folder (in the Project Browser) in which Nick symbols are stored; used by the Die-making tools.
