Add Normal Constraint

This tool adds a normal constraint between two arcs or a line and an arc.

To use the tool, identify the two entities. The entities will then be constrained so that are normal to each other.

If a normal constraint is applied to two arcs then it constrains them to intersect and where they intersect their directions are perpendicular.

If a normal constraint is applied to an arc and a line then it constrains the direction of the line so that it is perpendicular to the direction of the arc at the point where the line, or its imaginary extension, intersects the arc.

Alternatively, you can select a pair of entities and then start the tool. The normal constraint will then be added to the selected entities.

After creating the normal constraint you can hover your cursor over the constraint and the related entities will be highlighted.

NOTE: Whilst this tool can be used to move entities so as to satisfy the constraint, it is recommended that entities are created in the desired position.
