Macro

Macros are files which are written in Impact Macro Language (IML) as MAC source files and then compiled into RUN files, ready for execution.

TIP: IML is Impact's legacy mechanism automation. If you are considering developing automation tools, it is strongly recommended that you create VBS scripts or compiled plug-ins instead.

Normally users should not need to use Macro tools - these are intended for programmers/administrators to develop new macros.

When macro development is complete, the macro developer should add one or more new items to the Automation menu, using the Automation section of Database Installation settings, to allow other users to run the macros.

This user guide does not cover any aspects of the IML programming language.
